South Jordan's median home here was built in 2007, a good eight years newer than the broader Sandy service area median of 1999. That gap matters. This isn't a town of original 1960s one-piece doors on side-mount hardware. It's a town of subdivisions built during the 2000s boom, which means steel sectional doors on extension or torsion springs, factory-installed chain or belt-drive openers, and photo-eye safety sensors that were code-required by the time these houses went up. With 25,801 households in the area and a median income of $126,400, a lot of these garages also got upgraded openers or insulated doors as resale projects rather than as original builds - so what's on the house today isn't always what the builder put in. We work from what we find at the door, not what the build year implies.
